Which Theme Parks Should You Visit in 2019?

Making the time and money to visit one or more theme parks this coming year can be a challenge for some families. If you haven’t made a trip to Disney, Universal or SeaWorld in a while, there are plenty of new attractions and entertainment to draw you in. Here are some of the best theme parks to plan on visiting in 2019…

If you have small children or family visiting…

Disney’s Magic Kingdom is always top of every kid’s wish list, and the addition of Toy Story land late last year makes it even more attractive for the younger ones. There are rides and stage shows based on the beloved characters, including Woody and Buzz. This year the park will also have special celebrations for Minnie and Mickey’s 90th birthday, including multiple chances for young visitors to see them up close and meet them.

If you’ve done Disney already, consider stopping in at SeaWorld, where a new Sesame Street attraction recreates the famous block, complete with Big Bird’s nest. There will be rides for small children and a parade featuring popular characters from the show.

If you or family members are fans of “The Force…”

After much anticipation, Disney is ready to open some of its Star Wars themed attractions at Hollywood Studios. The Galaxy’s Edge area, which is set to open later this year, recreates one of the worlds shown in the movies. At opening, there will be two large roller coasters in the area and some dining options. A Star Wars themed hotel will open nearby in early 2020.

If you love waterslides and splash rides…

While Universal opened its Volcano Bay waterpark last year, early operational kinks and lack of rides kept some visitors away. Now that the park has had some time to work those problems out, it’s a great time to hit the park and enjoy the slide down Florida’s highest peak. In addition to waterslides, Volcano Bay is home to a must try magnetically powered aqua coaster, where you ride in a canoe around sharp turns and down steep hills.

If your party includes small children, Lego Land might be the best place to hit the water. The park will open a new area to celebrate the opening of the second Lego Movie this summer, along with a Lego themed water ride.

If you’re a die hard Disney fan…

If you love visiting the parks just to take in the ambiance of the happiest place in the world, Disney’s Skyliner is coming in Fall of 2019 and might just  be perfect for you! The gondola style ride harkens back to the transportation that helped riders get around the park decades ago. You can hop on at Hollywood Studios or Epcot and take the gondola back to a Disney resort, or simply ride around and take in the view.
