Yes…we did it. We waited in line for just under an hour for #TheCoop’s GRAND OPENING! If you don’t know, @TheCOOP_WP is @4RSmokehouse newest concept of southern comfort food. With minutes of landing in the back of the line we were given samples of a tasty side they offer and quite frankly I’m still not sure what it was. Regardless, I only had 5 of them. The waitress who was passing out samples also kindly agreed to bring us a large sweet tea while we waited which helped the time pass.
Once we made our way to the front doors (half-way through the line) someone finally told me what I wanted to hear…. “It’s worth the wait.” The rest of the time in line we spent debating the menu but ultimately it’s impossible to make a decision on what you’re going to order until you get to the front of the line and see the food available.
Here’s the breakdown of where we landed:
I ordered, their Shrimp & Grits and Megan ordered the Chicken & Waffles, which were both on the Signature Dishes section of the menu. Check out the menu here.
Bottom Line:
Food: ★★★★★
Staff: ★★★★★
Recommendations:
1. Get a desert!
2. Try every sample they offer!
3. Don’t stress over your decision, just plan to go back.
4. Once they open the carry out window, call ahead and carry-in (or out)!
Let’s just say, it was #worththewait… but I’d prefer not too.
