COVID – Complete Transparency: A Letter From Justin
If it’s okay, I’d like to be totally transparent…
I’m not sure what to think anymore and for anyone that knows me knows that that is RARE. To be honest, I try not to think if I can help it. Is this truly the medical pandemic of the century, or could it be a complete hoax? I personally know people who have been affected by COVID-19, so I guess the latter is out…
My wife, Megan, is an emergency physician so she has seen the effects of this virus first hand. She’s hearing real life stories from the medical community all across the country and hears the worst of the worst. [It’s kind of like reading the reviews on Amazon from the sugar-free gummy bears. If you have a few spare minutes check them out, at your own peril.] Of course, that’s a sure fire way to create anxiety within anyone, but it’s difficult not to allow yourself to go there mentally.
Megan knows I don’t worry about much of anything [I’m just not built that way], so she has taken on the concern for the whole family for the most part. We all need someone who can be concerned for the pack. Over the past few months I have regularly spoken with people on the other end of the spectrum who think everything is over blown. Where every precaution is unnecessary and patriotism is defined as being mask-free. [This one makes me laugh.]
The new [fun?] challenges have been navigating the individual beliefs of customers and other people we interact with. Are we going to fist bump? Will we ever shake hands again? Do they feel comfortable meeting in public or should I schedule a zoom meeting? In my opinion, life is better when we can see everyone’s smiles.
If you know me, you know I’m willing to enter a discussion (some might call it a debate) just for sport. I’m a counter puncher on issues like this. With all that being said, I truthfully don’t quite know what to think right now.
If you’re in the same boat, stay strong and focus on what you can control.
P.S. Thank you for being a supporter of our business! We survive on your referrals, so if you know anyone that could use the services of a real estate professional, I would love the opportunity to earn their business.
